One would be hard pressed to find another artist whose meteoric rise parallels that of Belgium’s most exciting new export, Amelie Lens. She has, in a little more than a year, soared from relative anonymity to one of todays most in-demand DJ/Producers the world over.

With her debut release on Italian imprint Lyase gaining a massive amount of attention, Amelie seized the moment and quickly delivered her first release on Pan-Pot’s highly lauded label Second State and followed shortly after with a stellar EP on one of the undergrounds most championed outfits ARTS. At the same time her releases started to flow consistently on high level labels, Amelie started her own event EXHALE at Labyrinth Club where she invites todays hottest acts as well as her “All Night Long” sets which prove she embodies an equal mastery to that of her peers with years more experience. With these critical foundations laid, it was no time before she began headlining the industries most acclaimed events. As if it wasn’t apparent after all this, Amelie is just getting going and there seems to be no decrease in her pursuit of world wide dance floor domination.

EXIT is the two-time winner of the “Best Major European Festival” award along with the continuous recognition by the global music stars, fans and media alike.

Held each year at the 18th Century colossal Petrovaradin Fortress in the city of Novi Sad in Serbia, EXIT started as a student movement whose massive protests brought down the oppressive regime in Serbia. EXIT became the first mass event to gather all the people in Balkans after a long decade of divisions.

Celebrated as a place where hedonism meets activism, it is the social relevance of EXIT that has made it unique and globally recognized hosting stars like The Prodigy, Arctic Monkeys, Madonna, The Killers, Sex Pistols, Guns’n’Roses, Arcade Fire, Beastie Boys, David Guetta, Carl Cox, Nina Kraviz, Patti Smith, Motorhead, LCD Soundsystem, Wiz Khalifa, Snoop Dogg, Wu-Tang Clan, Andy C, DJ Shadow, and countless many more at 30+ stages in nearly two decades since its inception in 2000. So far, EXIT hosted a worldwide audience of over 2.5 million visitors from 60 different countries.

EXIT Team now runs five festivals in five neighboring countries, EXIT in Serbia, Festival 84 in Bosnia, Sea Star in Croatia, Revolution in Romania and Sea Dance in Montenegro.

Audio - Frog March

For an artist whose output has graced many of the main stay drum & bass labels, Audio’s history is one which has been diligently followed since he first started releasing music, decades prior to this next venture. And this unveiling is about to be one of his most pivotal projects, with the veteran producer launching his very own imprint, one which is offering him full control over his work. After dropping albums on the likes of Ram Records and Virus Recordings, two labels who have shaped very different yet still imperative parts of the genre, he’s about to embark on another string of releases featuring the same caliber of music. It makes sense that Audio has the capabilities to run his own imprint, one which will signify his place within the drum & bass echelon. And Snake Pit Records already defines the pace with ‘Frog March’, a track which is inherently presents the Audio moniker, channeling both the new and old sounds which mold together to present a new side of the producer.

‘Frog March’ follows the same roots maneuvers which made Audio a crucial force during his rise to infamy, however it brings these movements through a contemporary angle. The track is rolling, yet it features stabs which add the record’s carved hooks. ‘Frog March’ becomes more and more overbearing; it steadily grows in a way that pays homage to the times where cuts were allowed to breathe. Its sudden switches keep it interesting, once again highlighting that despite Audio’s penchant for chaotic beats, he’s still able to craft a track that breaks away from standard patterns. With shattering LFOs and steppy arpeggios, ‘Frog March’ is aggressive in its breakdowns but also industrious in its make-up. Thumping drums take you out into the mix and you’re left to feel blow after blow of its heavy subs. The intimidating depth of ‘Frog March’ alongside its relentless undercurrent make this a classic Audio track. There was no better way to reveal what Audio has been doing in the background – this year will be about Snake Pit Records and a release schedule which stretches out across the summer.
