Rene LaVice Releases Remix of Jareth's 'Rings of Saturn'

Following René  Lavice’s seminal ‘Far From Perfect’ LP released through Ram Records / BMGearlier this year, he returns alongside album collaborator Jareth for her forthcoming remix package. And after revealing that she’ll be bringing on board a host of artists to have their take on her ‘Moonchild’ EP, a release which helped push her to critical acclaim across both press and radio, René LaVice makes a welcome addition to a heavyweight track listing. Having already defined herself within dance music featuring beside the likes of Ultra Record’s Chris Lake, as well as the release of Hybrid Minds’ rework of her record ‘Kaleidoscope’, she’s crossed over many genre constraints.  Her support on radio tastemakers BBC 1xtraKiss FM and BBC Radio 1 comes as little surprise – whether you consider her past collaboration with grime artist Ghetts, or worldwide fashion designer Roberto CavalliJareth is the true essence of artist.

René LaVice has also had his own show stopping moments this year. As well as securing hisRadio 1 residency for their drum & bass show, he’s played sets at some of this year’s major events, such as NassLet it Roll and Arcadia in London. His take on Jareth’s ‘Rings of Saturn’record twists the original on its head, whilst injecting the same energy he orchestrates throughout his live sets. René’s heavyweight bass credentials and crunching snares juxtapose Jareth’sstunning vocal highs for an ultimate dancefloor cut. It presents the perfect addition to Jareth’s EP, as well as a back catalogue of remixes which have pushed René’s name throughout the wider music circuit. With his octane style blending amongst Jareth’s emotive signature, they offer a rework which platforms the stellar attributes of both artists within their respective musical fields.

JADE - Propaganda

Deep within the core of their sprawling annex, The Institution’s top minds worked diligently at their insidious craft. Their hands moved swiftly, as they worked relentlessly with the sharp tools of their mind; warping words, images, and sounds to fit their malevolent narrative. Their objective was singular, complete control exercised from the shadows, profits reaped from beyond the veil of obscurity. Trust, that most hallowed principle, was nothing to them but a tool of manipulation, exercised to to legitimize their empire. The plan was simple, a classic diversion operated on a massive scale. The creation of an enemy, the eternal outsider, one against whom the public must remain vigilant. Composed of a paradox, the outsider posed no threat, yet could never be vanquished. Instead, his reputation and the shadow of his fearful influence would loom as a spectre, a shade of darkness designed to haunt the masses. Their fear would drive them into the protection of The Institution, shepherded in the manner of livestock. From there, the extension of their complete control would be assured. The machinations of its minds completed, The Institution began its program of domination in full, disseminating its precisely produced PROPAGANDA amongst the public.

Their message was erected upon the walls of their great city, proliferated throughout the mailboxes of its citizens, and across the webpages of it their tightly controlled digital network. Their message spread with viral efficiency. The citizens’ response was sublimely realised, a surge of fear through the populace, shepherding them into the arms of The Institute as they sought security in the face of the threat birthed in pure imagination. Security, The Institution was more than happy to provide; promising strength in the face of the mysterious menace. The Institution’s agents felt the power of their positions strengthen throughout the city, soon holding its highest offices in their grip, putting greater tools of control in their hands. Initiatives were passed, laws enacted, and the vaults of the city drained. The streets were the conduit of their fear, their PROPAGANDA campaign continuing in the fearful whispers of the citizens carrying the fear of The Outsider’s presence. The cycle was set, justification freely given out of fear. The Institute’s diabolic machinations ran as pure as the fear that coursed through the city.

The man pulling the strings behind the revered EATBRAIN imprint, JADE, returns for his second release of the year on his home label with the fiercely executed PROPAGANDA EP, featuring the veteran skills of RIDO. Following on from the much-acclaimed AWAKE EP, Jade powerfully demonstrates that he’s back in the studio and putting his veteran knowledge of what functions on the Eatbrain dancefloor to effective use. Delivering two fresh, tech-infused DnB bangers, along with a faster tempo VIP of fan favourite MAN EATING LIZARD DRAGON, as well as a further strut in the unfolding genre mechanism of slow and meaty neuro in SPY CAR, the PROPAGANDA EP delivers the Eatbrain manifesto in exquisite form. Full of the energy and spirit that’s driven the label to dizz heights, this is an unmissable chapter in both the imprint and the label boss’s journey.

Telekinesis // Beware EP

LISTEN NOW >>>> https://soundcloud.com/eatbrain/sets/eatbrain064-telekinesis-beware

Their status as elite was undeniable, a twin humanoid team paired with the heavily armed hybrid, all of them augmented with cutting edge wetware and black-ops endtech. Gazing over the wasted metropolitan landscape of the old capital of this dead-end planet, they activated their internal dataspikes carrying their encrypted tasks and poured over the contents // RETRIEVAL - HIGHER LEVEL SONIC WEAPONRY WITH CAPITAL DESTRUCTION CAPABILITIES - COORDINATES TRANSMITTED & EMBEDDED IN SUB-SURFACE NEURAL LAYER // The subnotes indicated its capacity to disintegrate entire buildings with a highly focussed emission of intense articulated resonant frequencies. Looking around, evidence of this was clear, with gaps in the broken skyline, where the great towers of this city’s ruling megacorp once stood. Heaps of fine grey sand lay in their place, the result of the device’s terrible effect - reducing them to base states of entropy. The hybrid scanned the barren landscape with its ocular implants, marking the coordinate location in the team’s HUD systems and rapidly switching through the various optical spectrums of its threat detection system. They set forward determinedly, moving quickly through the ruins that remained, closing the distance to the objective quickly. They moved in deathly silence, their steps masked by phase cancellation pads in their boots, allowing even their hulking hybrid companion to move as a quietly as the whisper of death on the fringe of the wind.

They took position upon the upper floor of a broken building, looking out upon the crater in which the device rested. The rival merc crew that was working with frenetic pace below to detach the weapon from its housing were basic operators, their heat signatures highly visible and open radio comms, real amateurs. Without a word, the trio dropped down from the vast height, the air moving over them without resistance as their suits excited and repelled the molecules that moved against them. Touching down in silence, their ruthless assault began - shouldering his chaingun, the team’s EM specialist rained a hail of fire upon their rivals with ruthless precision, each shot locked and guided to their mortal marks by the EM signals produced by the weapons of his very targets. His partner moved quickly from cover to cover, his implants working furiously, hijacking the soldiers senses and systems, disabling them and making them easy targets for the hybrid - charging furiously forward, devastating their ranks with its impossible strength. In mere seconds, the bustling center of activity at the crater lay suddenly silent. Without pause they passed through the carnage and approached the device, and gazed at the warning roughly scrawled on its surface ‘BEWARE!”.

The powerful drum and bass duo - TELEKINESIS - return for their 3rd EP - BEWARE! - on seminal tech label EATBRAIN. Their insertion of their latest spike of polished sonics sees the pair teaming up with label boss JADE, as well as one of the imprint’s embedded voices, NUKLEAR MC. With 4 tracks of weighted neural technology, designed to devastate both senses and the dancefloor, Telekinesis demonstrate slickly why they are renowned for consistent and poised sound system assaults. Expect the 4 slices of dirt within to leave a trail of shock and awe across the festival landscape of the Summer and beyond.

Ewol x Grey Code x Skylark - III

LISTEN NOW >>>>https://soundcloud.com/methlab-recordings/sets/bnkr008-ewol-grey-code-skylark

Tracklist //
01. Skylark - Daydreaming
02. Grey Code (feat. Ray Uptown) - Atom Rays
03. Ewol - Myth
04. Grey Code - Simple Things
05. Ewol - Suppress
06. Skylark (feat. Ewol)- Diffusion

A new instalment from the stark depths of METHLAB RECORDINGS’ BNKR series is set to manifest, with an emerging trio of young producers - EWOL, GREY CODE and SKYLARK - at the controls. Featuring six tracks that embody the precise and powerful spirit of the series in full, the III EP stands as a distinct mark on BNKR. Supercedeing traditional bounds, the selected artists instead exact an exploratory attitude towards each track, with their discerning commitment to deeper sonic experiences clear cut. With this unifying philosophy Ewol, Grey Code and Skylark grant the III EP a monolithic presence of fundamental force.

MYTH hangs ominously with the presence of spectral pads, the hegemon of which is broken only momentarily by the rapid cuts of minimal percussion until dispelled by a pulsating sub bass. The swelling atmosphere of SUPPRESS obfuscates a brooding bassline that rises from within, growing in harmonic intensity as it advances mercilessly forwards. ATOM RAYS ascends upon the energy of a rapid arpeggio, the rhythm of which is effortlessly transferred as it is hijacked by ticking percussion that marks out the surface of a sunken bassline. SIMPLE THINGS shimmers with nostalgia, its replicant analogue melody and dreaming vocal evoking a nostalgic age of lost technology. DAYDREAMING floats upon the lamentations of a drifting choral, allowing even its weighty bass to soar with perplexing grace amongst glimmering interspersals of falling percussion. From DIFFUSION’s subterranean soundscape emerges a frenetic drumbeat upon which rests a muted melody, its canorous tone suppressed by the environment in which it resounds.

BNKR 008 continues the series’ mission as it weaves between sultry and beautiful, delving depths of weighted bass, unveiling audio that delivers maximal impact by way of minimal elements through the combined expertise of EWOL, GREY CODE & SKYLARK across six meticulously crafted tracks.
