Unboxing Vinyl – Various – The Irishman (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack)
The Irishman tells the story of World War II veteran Frank Sheeran, a hustler and hitman who worked alongside some of the most notorious figures of the 20th century. Spanning decades, the film chronicles one of the greatest unsolved mysteries in American history, the disappearance of legendary union boss Jimmy Hoffa, and offers a monumental journey through the hidden corridors of organized crime: its inner workings, rivalries and connections to mainstream politics.
Following up to a pair of choice transmissions on Aussie operated imprint Vulcan Venti, Perth-based rising talent Hame DJ turns up on KOC with a debut four-track platter oozing pure elegiac acid vibes and transient, sci-fi-infused ambient, seamlessly hedge-hopping from UK bass to liquid jungle, through gauzy atmospheric techno and bastardized shades of Rephlex-style electronica.
Wow recorded pre-Corvid 19... Did Lorn have a prophetic vision? One can only be left scratching their head after this stunning visual. We are all in a time of unexplored realities. This is the soundtrack to our lives.....

Bristolian
Stephen Redmore, known through his drum & bass alias Mako, is
finally set to unleash his forthcoming LP on Metalheadz, something which
he’s been working on behind the scenes for some time. The label head of
Utopia is well known for his slick production and penchant for
underground anthems, something which has been seen again and again on
his own imprint, as well as across a plethora of labels which have acted
as pillars for the drum & bass world. Having already made his
presence felt before within the catalogue of Metalheadz, as well as
Break’s Symmetry Recordings, Dispatch, Soul:R and Samurai Music, he’s a
valuable part of the genre’s make up, which is why the announcement of
his forthcoming LP ignited widespread anticipation.
Directly
translated to ‘a body of art’, Mako’s LP ‘Oeuvre’ is representative of
his life’s work in music production. The switching breaks of
‘Heartstone’, slamming, yet eerily hollowed snares of ‘Offline’ and
grinding bassline of ‘Life Cycle’ alongside the late Andy Skopes, a
testament to the legacy he left behind, set the tone. Meanwhile, Villem
and Fields join Mako for the LP’s next collaboration ‘Liquid Groover’
before the emotive swelling build of ‘The Window’ gives way to a second
drop beat switch up, continuing the journey. ‘Flip it’ has already been
doing the club rounds, as the moody Photek atmospherics of ‘One Reality’
and more affectional twists of ‘Holding You’ adds to the tracklist’s
versatility.
The
Scenic Values’ underscores Mako’s love of Krust and Doc Scott
production grooves, whilst the experimental soundscape of ‘Hoxton Home’
heralds back to old Lemon D. ‘Oh Really’ finishes the album’s more
club-orientated offerings, which follows with a 170bpm techno style
track via ‘Passive Aggressor’. ‘Oeuvre’ is a walkthrough of Mako’s many
personalities as a musician and it finds a welcome home within
Metalheadz’s historic discography.

‘Club Thug’ is the homecoming that DC Breaks fans have been waiting for. It's the first track from their new DCXV project, a celebration of 15 years of DC Breaks which will be dropping throughout 2020. ‘Club Thug’ is an amalgamation of the duos' signature dancefloor sound over the last 15 years. It conjures up memories of club anthems tracks like ‘Swag’, ‘Lock In’ and ‘Gambino’, some of the most revered dancefloor-orientated records of their time.
With its growling, moody sub bass and signature DC Breaks drums, ‘Club Thug’ appeals directly to the audience the producers have spent nearly two decades building. A certified dancefloor smasher, it takes their sound to new levels and kick starts the fifteenth year of DC Breaks with a bang.

“The Motive EP is my largest body of work to date and signifies a refinement of my music with each track focusing on a specific character. A great opportunity to show a bit more diversity in my productions!” – Malux
Marie Vaunt contributing one of my all time favorite hit tracks Tears For Fears re-rubbed into an absolute Techno banger. I recall this track playing soundtrack to my existence. The nostalgia is real. 80's fire redelivered. Marie Vaunt shout!
Such an outstanding remix to wake up to. Wouldn't you agree? Anyone who knows DJ Fresh and SKREAM knows these two are not here to play around. This IS the underground. The beat is classic. This is a great way to kick off your social distance weekend.... We do want you stay home however.LOL

After a whirlwind 2019, which saw Eric Luttrell release his acclaimed debut solo album ‘Into Clouds’ on Anjunadeep, the prolific San Francisco native makes a swift return to the UK imprint with his second LP ‘Lucky Ones’. Eric will also embark on his most extensive headline tour to date, with 23 shows across North America through summer.
First breaking into electronic music as part of the OWSLA-affiliated trio The M Machine, Eric launched his solo project in 2016 with the widely supported ‘Need You’ EP, while Anjunadeep catalog favorites ‘Generate’ EP and Annie Mac’s Hottest Record In The World 'Intergalactic Plastic’ followed in quick succession. Now with his highly-praised debut album under his belt, which reached #2 on iTunes Dance Album charts in USA and Canada and #8 in the Official UK Dance Album Charts, Luttrell’s unique brand of quirky melodic house and techno has cemented his name as one of the scenes most hotly tipped talents; opening doors to working with Moby, Tycho, Jai Wolf, What So Not and Blossoms, all of whom commissioned remixes from Eric.
Whereas ‘Into Clouds’ examined the transitional periods of life, and was reflective of Eric’s mindset at the time of recording, ‘Lucky Ones’ is a celebration. Anchored in themes of gratitude, the LP is a collection of 11 meticulously crafted cuts which see him draw from a deep pool of personal influences, including the likes of The Smashing Pumpkins, Nirvana and The Prodigy, his love for San Francisco and Burning Man, time spent as a student in Berlin, climbing Mount Kilimanjaro, and even winning the US TV game show, The Price Is Right.
“I am incredibly lucky to have such enthusiastic and amazing support behind this project and this album is dedicated to all of my fans and listeners. I hope the songs on this album make you smile, make you dance and most of all, make you feel all the feels. Enjoy!”
‘Lucky Ones’ is available now via Anjunadeep, digitally, on CD and on limited edition 2x12” Vinyl with Luttrell motif die-cut slipcase.

For Upgrade’s next single on Ram Records, he again explores the full scope of his artistry with ‘What It Means’ and ‘Thunder’. First debuting on Ram as part of their annual compilation series, then moving to his first standalone single on the imprint, he’s now a regular part of its release schedule. With the harder throes of ‘You Got Me’ providing the more dance floor essence of his production, ‘Thunder’ follows the same vibe whilst ‘What it Means’ focuses more on the vocal-led melodies like his previous single ‘Won’t Hold Back’
Whilst ‘Won’t Hold Back’ introduced Upgrade’s vocals into the mix, ‘What it Means’ sees him continue this route, with it becoming a defining feature of the track’s musicality. ‘Thunder’, on the other hand, presents the single’s aggressive flip. Together, they deliver a brand-new addition to the Ram catalogue for Upgrade, now a definitive part of its roster.
