House of Yes, known as Brooklyn’s most outrageous performance and event space that is described by USA Today as, “New York’s coolest new nightclub”, welcomes a duo of stellar events in early October that highlight the most creative, influential, and cherished cultures of yesterday and today. Paying homage to the great legends of old school hip hop and the ‘Golden Era’ days of Studio 54, House of Yes presents two not-to-be missed themed dance parties.

On Thursday, October 6, House of Yes hosts a very special edition of Throwback Thursday with hip hop legend GRANDMASTER FLASH, stepping back to the days of when hip hop first started in community centers and parks across the Bronx. Going even further back in time, on Friday, October 7,  House of Yes revives 1970’s discomania with Discotechnique to celebrate the club’s co-founder Kae Burke’s 30th birthday with glistening themes and activities with help from the one who was there at the very beginning, Studio 54 disco maestro NICKY SIANO.

Thursday, October 6 - Throwback Thursday: Grandmaster Flash
Doors 10pm - Advance tickets available on Eventbrite

Welcoming a pioneering figure that helped spawn the birth of hip hop culture, House of Yes invites guests to a very special edition of Throwback Thursday to witness the innovator of the turntable, the man who turned it into an instrument itself, Grandmaster Flash. The night celebrates all that is hip hop culture from back in its original days; double dutching, street moves, and more. The master of hip hop is also a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee and an associate producer for the 2016 Netflix original series ‘The Get Down,’ co-created by Baz Luhrmann. Hold tight because it’s going to be a legendary night at House of Yes with a real life legend.
