In
front of a sold-out crowd at Sydney’s Allphones Arena and a massive
global audience online, Above & Beyond (a.k.a. Jono Grant, Tony
McGuinness and Paavo Siljamäki) celebrated the 150th episode of their
Group Therapy radio show in style, demonstrating again why they’re one
of the most in-demand acts in electronic music.
Highlights from
the night included the exclusive first play of a brand new OceanLab
single, Above & Beyond’s much-loved side project with Justine
Suissa, along with an announcement that Above & Beyond Acoustic will
return to some of the world’s most iconic venues in 2016. Fans can sign
up for more info about the upcoming ‘Acoustic’ album and tour at:
www.aboveandbeyond.nu/acoustic.
With tickets selling out months
in advance and in record time, attendees travelled from all four corners
of the globe for ABGT150 and lined up early to catch opening sets from
Anjunadeep’s fastest rising star Lane 8 and Anjunabeats’ progressive
favourite Grum, before staying late for an epic closing set from
Anjunabeats’ hottest talent ilan Bluestone. The frenzy of online chatter
from fans in the arena and from everyone watching at home ensured that
#ABGT150 reached the number one trending topic on Twitter, just as
#ABGT100 had done from New York’s Madison Square Garden in 2014.
Jono,
Tony and Paavo also revealed a swathe of new material from their
renowned Anjunabeats imprint’s heaviest hitters, including exclusives
from Andrew Bayer, Jason Ross and Oliver Smith. Some of the music
premiered at the show will appear on Above & Beyond’s forthcoming
Anjunabeats Volume 12 compilation, due later this year.
Finally
there was the news that Above & Beyond’s hometown gig at London’s
Wembley Arena is now sold out. With all proceeds going to the band’s
‘Little Something Charitable Fund’ in memory of Jono’s late sister
Charlotte and in aid of maternal mental health, UK fans can look forward
to a truly special evening on November 13th.
All the sets from the night will be released in the coming weeks via youtube.com/aboveandbeyond
With thanks to www.cavort.co for the awesome drone footage of Sydney!

I want to touch on RYOS for a second. If you have never heard of him he is an American teenage producer who is about to take the electronic music world by storm. Juggerknaught track "Eclipse" slung this young man on to the forfront of EDM culture. Borgeous is smart to collab with such a young talent. I have waited for this! Great track guys! I want to thank both artists for supporting the blog! Let's keep it going!!! ENJOY!!!
Borgeous & Ryos - Machi is OUT NOW! Grab your copy on Beatport HERE: http://btprt.dj/1Oy5cWC
Get
this collab between Borgeous and Ryos, who drop an exotic tinged groove
adding a raving climax alongside to get things really moving. The vocal
chants work wonders, the melodic intervals are stunning, while the
breakdown is as huge as it can get. Brace yourself for Machi, this is
going to hit hard!

Notixx AKA Ryan Sinatra is the musical conscience of the young Western New Yorker Ryan Sinatra. Ryan works hard in the studio to crank out tunes
that keep you dancing and BASS SMASHERS that only leave you wanting
more. His fluid transitions and masterful live effects create unique
live electronic shows that always impress, perplex and capture the
audience. He has built up local and international notoriety,
collaborating with multiple talented electronic artists, as well as
performing live to electronic music fans, Notixx is becoming more and
more recognized each day as a prominent force in todays bass culture.
1> What is behind the name "Notixx"?
> It's pretty simple, its just half of the word "Hypnotics" but spelled in a unique manner.
2> How would you describe your music to listeners who may have never heard it before?
> That honestly is something I struggle with. I usually try to skip the
explanation and just let them listen to it so they can develop their own
opinion. 3> Your "East Coast" influence translates through your tracks.
Would you say "breaks" were influential in your music production?
> I would say so. I love breaks music and I think it influences my percussion quite a bit. I'm definitely happy about that.
5> How long have you been creating music?
> On my own, for about 4-5 years now! Before that I was playing the guitar in small bands in High School and what not.
6> If there was one thing you change about the underground music scene... What would you change?
> The drug use no doubt. I know that drugs have always been a part of
electronic music, and probably always will be, but it kills me to see
these young kids diving into drugs in this music scene just because it's
"the cool thing to do"
7> If you could look back at your own personal "Tipping Point"
in the business that changed you forever what would that be?
> I don't know if I've actually reached that point yet honestly. We will
have to wait and see, but i feel like that point is somewhere in the
future still.
8> What is the meaning behind Tipping point?
> Hopefully I can push some people over the "genre edge" with this EP.
Some people spend so much time trying to categorize music into a genre
that they forget to LISTEN and enjoy it. I hope this will change.
9> Who most influenced you as an artist?
> That's a loaded question for sure. A lot of the dubstep OG's
(Caspa, Matty G, Subscape, Trolley Snatcha, Rusko) but also a lot of the
new wave of artists like Skrillex, J Rabbit, Flux Pavilion, Zeds Dead
and the likes.
Today it has shifted but still remains similar. I am inspired by anybody willing to push the boundaries and be BOLD.
10> What sets you apart from other artists?
> I think that would hopefully be my broader interest in blending the genre lines
11> Describe the strangest thing to ever happen while you were performing?
> One time I literally flew all the way to Iowa from New York just to have
the party get shut down due to noise violations literally minutes
before I was about to go on. That was pretty rough. There's others but
that was one that was really unexpected.
12> If you could collaborate with anyone who would it be? Why?
> I have a hard time collaborating because I work so quickly. Honestly I
would love to collaborate with some hip hop artists or MC's though! Or
vocalists. Most the music I make is very instrumental
13> Your followers obviously also love your "online"
personality. Outstanding memes keep everyone entertained. Is a social
media presence a big part of your brand? How can social media help
producers that don't believe in the impact it has on promotion?
> Man, facebook is tough these days. It's almost useless at this point.
Keeping everyone entertained is great and all, but at the end of the day
I try to make sure everything is about the music. Social media for
producers is very important. I try my best to interact with fans
consistently so they get a chance to peer into my personality and life.
14> You have a broad range of music style? What is your personal favorite?
> I definitely don't have a favorite, but I prefer working with music that has more melody for sure.
15> How do you overcome hardships as a producer and continue working?
> Taking breaks and collecting your thoughts is crucial. I take hikes often. Coffee helps too!
16> Does Notixx have any hobbies outside the music game?
> Traveling, brewing beer, roasting coffee, cooking and the likes.
17> What is your personal favorite track of all your creations?
> Im quite fond of the "Last Call" track I did on my last EP with Dub Police
18> If you could give a new producer any bit of advice what would it be?
> Make the music YOU want to make. Trust your ears.
19> If you could meet anyone from any time period in history who would it be? Why?
> Frank Sinatra because apparently we're related. (My last name is Sinatra)
Special thanks to to the The Dub Police and Notixx for the interview. I love getting to know the artists I have the pleasure of blogging! Links available below. Get connected.

TIME TO GET ILLY!!!!Noisia Outlook Festival 2015... I just shared an old post yesterday for TBT but a new video is such a treat! Enjoy, the summer has officially past.
Having started 2015 in style with the release of the 3 track EP entitled ʻLast Call”. Dub Police is delighted to welcome back Notixx with another scorching release for the label. This time we have the “Tipping Point” EP. Notixx once again is flawlessly jumping between tempoʼs and styles, he is quickly proving the case that he is an exciting prospect for the future of bass music. Kicking proceedings off is the energetic track ʻSpace Stompʼ; epic synths, punchy 808ʼs and screeching mid range bass all combine to make one powerful dance floor smasher. ʻRe-Upʼ takes a darker approach with stunning effect. Atmospheric snarls, haunting big room plucks and thugged-out vocal chops are the order of the day here. The results are extremely pleasing on the ear. Notixx teams up with GRIMEace for the low-slung sounds of ʻTipping Pointʼ, again big booming 808 subs, midi horns and disorienting piano phrases - reminiscent of Matty Gʼs classic West Coast style. All in all another diverse collection of tracks from Notixx showing a variety of different levels to his musical identity. Itʼs not hard to see why this young producer from Jamestown, NY is gaining such momentum amongst the EDM community.

An
infamously quick-fire dj, as well as one of the most hotly tipped
producers to date, Frankee is returning yet again with a single to
further solidify his position.
Whether it’s from a set played on
the notorious Ibiza waterfront, or amongst a packed out, dimly lit
stage in super club Fabric, you’ll instantly recognise these refined
cuts premiered over the last six months. Detonating a hard lined crowd
at Drum & Bass Arena’s Easter weekend, Power and Downtown are of two
totally different flavours, yet still pull raw energy and emotion from
dancefloors globally.
Featuring the vocal talents of Simon
Franks, ‘Downtown’ demonstrates an ability to tap into a hugely diverse
range of capacities. Fading between carefully textured breaks, as well
as a cleverly distorted bass, it spans a hugely intricate composition.
Fluctuating note patterns perfectly underpin slowly elevated synths;
cutting open and laying bear the producer’s depth. Working his more
emotive soundscape ‘Downtown’ epitomises Frankee’s versatility and his
multidimensional approach to music making.
On the flipside, a
much darker standard is set. Winding up before clanking into a maze of
snapping hi-hats, reverberating bass and barrages of driving drum loops
‘Power’ demonstrates the harder style of his production, as seen in
previous tracks like ‘Snarl’ and ‘Excalibur’. Brooding, gritty and a
perfect 4am grinder, the delivery of this next single presents two
opposing tracks that help to exemplify Frankee’s vast discography.
